Last night, I was incredibly honored to be part of my very first artist reception. The hospitality committee of the Grand Prairie Arts Council did an amazing job of organizing the reception and providing delectable food to represent the theme: Nautical Nonsense.
Nautical Nonsense is the current art show in conjunction with the Sponge Bob the Musical production at the Uptown Theater in Grand Prairie, TX. Some of the artwork pieces in the art exhibition, including mine, are for sale and will be on display until March 26, 2023. The art show is located in the lobby of the theater. At the reception, each artist in attendance showed off their artwork and talked a few minutes about themselves and their pieces. Thankfully I have no issues speaking in public!

No only was this an experience for me, but my family as well. I enjoyed being able to share this with my two sons and my husband. It was like having my own cheerleader section. My kids keep hugging me and telling me how proud they were of me. It was an emotional moment that I will cherish forever. Not only am I pushing through my challenges with health issues, OCD and ADHD, but I’m also modeling for my kids how to overcome challenges in life. I’m modeling how to set goals and work towards achieving those goals.
Lastly, let’s talk about Sponge Bob the Musical. The artist were blessed with free tickets to the show after the reception. I HATE Sponge Bob the cartoon. But the musical was a 10 out of 10! I loved every minute of the show. My kids enjoyed it as well and my oldest hasn’t stopped talking about how much he enjoyed the show. Check it out if you get a chance. Great times for the whole family!
