Pastel artwork general info:
Thank you for purchasing one of my original pastel drawings! Note: Original drawings may not include a mat and/or bag.
Be careful not to touch the drawing front itself, there is a small border around the pastel artwork that you may touch. Frame under glass ASAP. I do NOT spray my drawings with a fixative or sealant. Fixatives and sealants can damage the drawing and alter the artwork color, therefore I never use any. Even with a fixative, you should not touch pastel artwork. Note: Framing is NOT included, artwork is shipped to you unframed. I will most likely include a complementary mat, which helps in shipping.
How to frame your original pastel artwork:

You most likely will receive something like this (shown above) that includes the free mat. The drawing will be taped to the back of the mat. The mat and artwork is placed with a backing board into a plastic bag. All you need to do is purchase a frame the size of the mat (you will have to measure the mat). For example, I frame my 12″x16″ prints with a 16″x20″ mat. You would just purchase a 16″x20″ frame. Carefully take the artwork set out of the bag. The artwork will be tapped to the mat already. Discard or recycle the backing board and plastic bag. Then just put the mat that has the artwork attached into the frame. You can untape the artwork from the mat if you want to use a different mat. If the frame you purchase already has a mat, you can just use it for another framing project.
Pro tips:
Pro tip #1: The glare on a normal store bought frame can be pretty bad. I would suggest that you change out the glass to a non-glare glass. Any framing shop, Hobby Lobby or Michael’s Craft Store will sell you just the glass. They have several options to choose from. The glass will make all the difference!
Pro tip #2: If you don’t like the white mat, you can change out the mat to a different color or even a double mat. Also, you can get your art print custom framed where you have the option to choose the frame, mat, glass, etc.
Pro tip #3: If you get the artwork custom framed, make sure the framing company knows this is a pastel drawing and to be careful and not touch the artwork.
Pro tip #4: If the complementary mat gets damaged in shipping (you are not charged for the mat), you can get another mat from the store. They will custom cut the mat to the size you need. Sometimes the pastel will get on the mat, so be careful when moving the framed artwork.
